Player Bio:
Joseph Charles Orengo (November 29, 1914 – July 24, 1988) was an MLB infielder who played for five teams (Cardinals, Giants, Dodgers, Tigers and White Sox) from 1939 to 1945, playing all four infield positions. He was born in San Francisco, California, and died there at age 73.
In 366 games (1120 AB) over six seasons, Orengo posted a .332 OBP. Defensively, he recorded an overall .966 fielding percentage.
Joe went on to manage in the PCL. He compiled a record of 342 wins and 276 losses in his managing career with the Salt Lake City Bees, Sacramento Solons and Yakima Bears. He began managing during the 1946 season and last managed during the 1950 campaign.
