Christopher Allen Codiroli (born March 26, 1958 in Oxnard, CA) is a former professional baseball player who pitched in the Major Leagues in 1982–1988 and 1990. In 144 career games, he had 38 wins, 47 losses, 312 strikeouts, and a 4.87 earned run average.
Chris was drafted on January 10, 1978 by the Detroit Tigers in the 1st round (11th overall) of the 1978 amateur draft. He won a career high 14 games in 1985. He also led the A's in wins that year.
In fact, Chris was a workhorse in his two finest seasons (1983 & 1985), exceeding 200 innings while finishing .500 (record-wise) with identical 4.46 ERAs. Pitching for the Oakland Athletics, Chris was 12-12 in 205 2/3 innings in 1983 and 14-14 in an American League-leading 37 starts (and 226 innings) in 1985. In no other season did he exceed the 100 innings mark, fading fast beginning in 1986 while posting ERAs in excess of 8 with three teams in his final three big league looks. Chris' nephew, Jason, was drafted in 2008. His brother, Michael, played professionally as well.
