Player Bio:
James Alexander Campanis (born February 9, 1944 in New York City), is a former professional ballplayer who played in the Major Leagues primarily as a catcher from 1966 to 1970 and 1973. Jim played for the Dodgers from 1966-68. He caught Sandy Koufax' last win at Dodger Stadium. He was working for the team in 1988 when the Dodgers won the World Series.
Interestingly, His father, Al Campanis, also played in the Majors and, as the Dodgers General Manager, traded his son on December 15, 1968 to the Kansas City Royals as part of a conditional deal - where Jim became an original Royal.
His son, Jim Jr., who was a minor league prospect, wrote the book "Born Into Baseball" (Summer Game Books).
