Philip Joseph Barzilla (born January 25, 1979 in Houston, TX) is an American former professional baseball player. Phil attended Dulles High School (Sugar Land, Texas), Alvin Community College (Alvin, Texas), and Rice University (Houston). In 2000, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Falmouth Commodores of the Cape Cod Baseball League.

A fourth-round Draft choice by the Astros in 2001 out of Rice University in Houston, Barzilla was called up from Triple-A Round Rock in 2006 when Roy Oswalt went on the disabled list. "It's a bit surreal, and it hasn't really sunk in," the Houston native told the Houston Chronicle. "It's awesome to be in an Astros uniform. I grew up watching them.” Unfortunately, Barzilla’s eight-pitch outing against the Braves is the fewest thrown by one Astros pitcher in his big league career.

Barzilla made his Major League Baseball debut on Sunday June 11, 2006 for the Houston Astros. He faced only two batters. Brian Jordan of the Atlanta Braves singled off Phil before Todd Pratt flew to center field to end the inning. His 1/3rd of an inning pitched is the second shortest career of an Astros pitcher after Larry Yount's appearance in which he was injured whilst warming up on the mound and never threw a pitch.

Overall, Barzilla played nine seasons in the Minor Leagues and four seasons playing in other countries before retiring in 2011. He also represented Italy in the 2006 World Baseball Classic.

In 2011, he played for the Brother Elephants of the Chinese Professional Baseball League.
